IBPS Common PO / MT Exam / Recruitment 2017 Notification (Last Date 05th September)

The 07th Common Written Examination for selection of personnel for Probationary Officer / Management Trainee posts, conducted online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Eligible candidates, who aspires to work as a Probationary Officer ( PO ) / Management Trainees ( MT ) in the participating Public Sector Bank, is required to register for the Exam. The examination will be 2 tier i.e. the online examination will be held in 2 phases, Preliminary and Main. Candidates who will qualify in Preliminary Exam and shortlisted will appear for Main Exam. Candidates shortlisted in Main Examination will subsequently be called for a Common Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and co-ordinated by the Nodal Bank. Depending on the final vacancies to be filled in during the financial year 2018 – 2019 based on the business needs of the Participating Organisations and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Organisations keeping in view the spirit of Government Guidelines on reservation policy, administrative convenience, etc. The validity for CWE PO / MT VII will automatically expire at the close of business on 31st March 2019 with or without giving any notice.

Important Dates to Note :
Online Registrations Start – 16th August 2017 to 05th September 2017
PO / MT Preliminary Written Exam – 07th October 2017, 08th October 2017, 14th October 2017 and 15th October 2017
Declaration of Result Preliminary Exam – October 2017
PO / MT Preliminary Main Exam – 26th November 2017
Declaration of Result Main Exam – December 2017
Conduct of Interview – January / February 2018
Provisional Allotment – April 2018

Eligibility Criteria :
Age (As on 01.08.2017) : Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 30 years
i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02nd August 1987 and not later than 01st August 1997 (both dates inclusive)

Educational Qualifications (As on 05th Sept 2017) :
Graduates in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Written Examinations
The Written Exam will comprise of a 2 stage process – Preliminary Exam & Main Exam. Both these exams will be conducted through online mode.

As mentioned earlier, the 2017 IBPS PO Exams shall follow a two stage process –
Preliminary Exam – There will be 100 questions that should be answered within 1 hour. Cutoffs would be fixed for each section & also for the total score, which you need to secure. The structure of the exam which will be conducted is as follows.

Please Note: Candidates who qualify in the preliminary test will only be eligible for main examination.

Main Exam – There will be 200 questions that should be answered within 2 hours. Candidates must achieve the cutoff scores (section-wise & total) to be called for common interviews.

Please Note – For every wrong answer, negative mark of 0.25 would be deducted.

Application fees Rs 600/- (General) and Rs 100/- (SC/ST) with the option of paying it through

How to Apply :
i) Online (from August 16th – Sept 05th) : Candidate can visit ibps.in website & click on the online application to fill the necessary details. After form submission, you would be directed to the online fee payment gateway. Pay the appropriate fee amount using online payment option, after completing the transaction, print the generated e-receipt
On successful submission of application, a registration number & password would be shown that has to be noted.

  1. If a candidate don’t have 60% in graduate but more than 60% in post graduate.
    Is he/she is eligible for IBPS exam or not?
    Please confirm

    Please recommend a good book which covers each and every section and its really worth. I’ve tried few books earlier but none is helpful. Please assist.

    1. It is difficult to find 1 book covering all sections, it is recommended that you refer books which are specific to a particular subject.
      You may also refer magazines like Pratiyogita Kiran and Pratiyogita Darpan.
