The 04th Common Written Examination for selection of personnel for Probationary Officer / Management Trainee posts, conducted online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Eligible candidates, who aspires to work as a Probationary Officer ( PO ) / Management Trainees ( MT ) in the 21 participating Public Sector Bank, is required to register for the Common Written Exam. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Common Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by IBPS. Depending on the available vacancies in Participating Banks.

Online Registrations Start – 26th July 2016 to 13th August 2016
PO / MT Written Exam – 20th November 2016
Conduct of interview
Declaration of Result – December 2016
Common Interviews Scheduled – January / February 2017
Final Allotments – April 2017
Eligibility Criteria :
Age (As on 01.07.2016) : Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 30 years
i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02nd July 1986 and not later than 01st July 1996 (both dates inclusive)
Educational Qualifications :
Graduates in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
The Written Exam will comprise of a 2 stage process – Preliminary Exam & Main Exam. Both these exams will be conducted through online mode.
As mentioned earlier, the 2016 IBPS PO Exams shall follow a two stage process –
Preliminary Exam – There will be 100 questions that should be answered within 1 hour. Cutoffs would be fixed for each section & also for the total score, which you need to secure. The structure of the exam which will be conducted is as follows.
Please Note: Candidates who qualify in the preliminary test will only be eligible for main examination.
Main Exam – There will be 200 questions that should be answered within 2 hours. Candidates must achieve the cutoff scores (section-wise & total) to be called for common interviews.
Please Note – For every wrong answer, negative mark of 0.25 would be deducted.

How to Apply :
i) Online (from July 26th – August 13th) : Candidate can visit ibps.in website & click on the online application to fill the necessary details. After form submission, you would be directed to the online fee payment gateway. Pay the appropriate fee amount using online payment option, after completing the transaction, print the generated e-receipt
On successful submission of application, a registration number & password would be shown that has to be noted.
