IBPS Common PO / MT Exam / Recruitment 2014 Notification (Last Date 11th August)


The 04th Common Written Examination for selection of personnel for Probationary Officer / Management Trainee posts, conducted online by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Eligible candidates, who aspires to work as a Probationary Officer ( PO ) / Management Trainees ( MT ) in the 21 participating Public Sector Bank, is required to register for the Common Written Exam. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a Common Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by IBPS. Depending on the available vacancies in Participating Banks.

Important Dates to Note :
Online Registrations Start – July 22 2014 to August 11, 2014
PO / MT Written Exam – October 2014 / November 2014 (11th & 12th, 18th & 19th / 01st Nov & 02nd Nov)
Common Interviews Scheduled – January 2015
Final Allotments – April 2015

Eligibility Criteria :
Age (As on 01.07.2014) : Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 30 years
i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 02nd July 1984 and not later than 01st July 1994 (both dates inclusive)

Educational Qualifications :
Graduates with 60 percent marks in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Computer Literacy - Proficiency in computer operations is mandatory, candidates should have certificate in computer operations.

Written Examination
Written Exam will comprise of objective type questions for a total of 200 marks across 5 sections
Candidates are required to secure minimum qualifying mark in each section & overall. These cutoff scores are to be decided by IBPS depending on the performance of all applicants.

Please Note - For every wrong answer, negative mark of 0.25 would be deducted.

Registration Fee :
Application fees Rs.600 (General) and Rs.100 (SC/ST) with the option of paying it through

How to Apply :
i) Online (from July 22 – August 11) : Candidate can visit ibps.in website & click on the online application to fill the necessary details. After form submission, you would be directed to the online fee payment gateway. Pay the appropriate fee amount using online payment option, after completing the transaction, print the generated e-receipt
On successful submission of application, a registration number & password would be shown that has to be noted.

ii) Offline (from July 24 – August 14) : Login to ibps.in website & visit IBPS common exam webpage to fill the online application.
On submitting the application, note the generated Reg.no & password (also will be sent to your Email/ SMS)
Take a print of the challan that shall be generated after the above step.
From the 2nd day after registration deposit the fees at any branch of BOB, BOI, Bank of Maharashtra, PNB, IOB, United bank of India or Central Bank of India using the printed challan.
As a confirmation of paying fees, you will receive Email/SMS after 2 days.
The facility to print the filled-in application form would be enabled after 3 days of fee payment.

  1. If a candidate don’t have 60% in graduate but more than 60% in post graduate.
    Is he/she is eligible for IBPS exam or not?

    Please recommend a good book which covers each and every section and its really worth. I’ve tried few books earlier but none is helpful. Please assist.

  4. It is difficult to find 1 book covering all sections, it is recommended that you refer books which are specific to a particular subject.
    You may also refer magazines like Pratiyogita Kiran and Pratiyogita Darpan.
